Places to visit around Tirthan Valley:-
1. Jibhi Water Fall
Jibhi
Waterfall is one of the best attractions in
Tirthan. The path
which leads you to the waterfall is well maintained
and is situated deep inside a forest. While walking
to the waterfall, you will come across numerous
wooden bridges in the path, which make the place
picturesque
2. Kulhi Katandi (Water body) - At a walk of 1.5 km
Kulhi Katandi or Veer Ki Aar. It is located
within a dense forest of pine and deodar trees. It
is a stream flowing through two huge rocks, which
looks like a picture from Thailand, hence, the name.
This treasure of nature must be viewed at least once
in your life. Places like these make your vacations
memorable. You can discover the beautiful scenery
Jibhi has to offer and forget about all the
frustrations and stresses of your city life.
3. Jalori Pass
Jalori Pass is a high-altitude mountain pass near
Jibhi. Jalori Pass' height is around 3200 m and this
allows you to experience high-altitude scenery and
ecosystems. Because of its remote location and
high-altitude atmosphere, a visit to the pass
promises adventure.
4. 360 Degree view point - At walk of 30 minutes from Jalori Pass
A spectacular view point just above the Pass, it
will take just a 30 minutes short uphill hike to
reach.
5. Sareolsar Lake - 5 km hike from Jalori Pass
To visit this beautiful lake, you can drive down to
Jalori Pass. You have to trek to explore Serolsar Lake
which is 5 km from the pass. A wonderful trek
surrounded by oak trees and fresh air is a great
start to your journey.
6. Raghupur Fort - 3 km hike from Jalori Pass
There are a lot of speculations that Mandi rulers
made this fort to protect themselves and their
kingdom from invaders. However, its true purpose and
use have been lost, just like most of this
structure. Only a few pillars are left as evidence
of this fort's existence.
This ruined fort has a meadow too where tourists can
camp during the summers. The journey to the fort is
a rocky one at best. It is a 3 km trek which might
be difficult as the path is covered with Himalayan
greenery. There is a small lake within the premises
of the fort.
7. Balu Nag Temple
A 1Hr. drive from Tirthan will take you to Bahu
village. From Bahu village you've to hike at least 1
hours to reach the temple. The path is beautiful
with trees on both sides.
Just like most other temples in Himachal, this
temple is also of unspecified vintage, displaying
Kath-Khuni architecture.
8. Shringa Rishi Temple
The Shringa Rishi Temple (or Shringi Rishi Temple)
is an important religious center for the locals. The
temple of Shringi Rishi is considered very sacred by
locals and they believe that this deity is one which
protects them. Shringi Rishi is one among the
eighteen chief deities of kullu valley.
9. Chehni Kothi
Chehni Kothi is an old traditional Kathi kuni
architecture style fortified tower with a temple
inside, located in Chehni village, Banjar, Himachal
Pradesh, India. The 350-year-old 12-storey-high
structure is made in the "Kath Kuni" method, using
only stones and wood without cement or nails.
10. GHNP Nature learning center Tirthan Valley
Great Himalayan National Park is a UNESCO World
Heritage site in Tirthan Valley.
11. Choi Waterfall
Scared place and the name comes from the local Deity
of the Nagini Village called Chhoi. Locals and
devotees come to the waterfall and pray to a
particular tree in front of it to seek blessings. It
is situated in Tirthan Valley and is a 3 km walk
from the village which approximately takes an hour
to reach.
